Sewailo an Early Christmas Present for Golfers

Sewailo an Early Christmas Present for Golfers

A few months ago we discussed Troon Golf’s move to manage golf clubs in the Tucson area. Last year, Inside Tucson Business reported that the Pascua Yaqui Tribe—which owns Casino Del Sol—selected Troon to manage Casino Del Sol Resort’s new golf club, and the plan is moving forward. The club, named Sewailo Golf Club, recently announced Spencer Cody as its golf pro, and is set to open December 12, 2013 (A round of golf at the new club wouldn’t be a bad Christmas present!). The 18 hole, par 72 championship golf course was designed by Ty Butler and Notah Begay III (the only Native American to compete on a PGA tour). Sewailo is set be an exciting new course, and a welcome addition to the quality courses that Tucson has to offer.

Both the casino and the course serve to benefit the Pascua Yaqui community.  In a statement, Peter S. Yucupicio, chairman of the Pascua Yaqui Tribal Council said: “Championship-style golf combined with the spectacular amenities at Casino Del Sol Resort brings us closer to realizing our vision of creating a world-class destination in Southern Arizona and Troon will ensure this venture is a success”.  Troon is known for managing some of the world’s finest courses, and the Sewailo Golf Club will surely be just as great of a course as the rest of Troon’s portfolio.  Go Golf Arizona is calling this course “Arizona’s newest and most diverse and challenging course in years.”

This excellent course, combined with the amenities of Casino Del Sol Resort, is sure to be an experience.  The resort features 215 guest rooms and suites, breathtaking views, and a new conference center.  This conference center also features a ballroom that holds up to 2,000 guests.  Casino Del Sol has five restaurants, featuring everything from a steakhouse to an all you can eat buffet and of course, great cocktails as well.  The spa, fitness center, and pool come together to make Casino Del Sol a dream and all around experience for any golf lover and their family.  If your significant other is not interested in golf they will surely be interested in the casino with over 1,300 slot machines!
